He is, but he's also African-North American. ;)

Anyway, I was trying to be PC and not say "black" pitchers.

Not to hijack this thread, but I thought this was interesting.

At Mudcat Grant's Web site (which is first rate, IMO), he inadvertently disses a man on his 12 Black Aces page. Grant claims to be the first African-American to win a World Series game, but in fact Bob Gibson won two the year before Grant did it. Grant would be the first AL'er, though.

I don't know if Luis Arroyo is a black Latin, but if he is, I think he would be the first of African descent to win a World Series game. Unless there are some of Moroccan descent I'm unaware of. 8-)
