Which pre-season guides do you buy? Is there ONE you trust more than others?

For me, it's Baseball Prospectus (duh), but I'm also usually in for one of the magazine type ones, usually Sporting News.

Sporting news is still a very good source of baseball news. I also try to pick up the Baseball Weekly preseason issues.

Shame on me... I rely on ESPN.com's Hot Stove Heaters. Have I just admitted to reading Cliff's Notes?

TimmyB, if you go down for this, it won't be alone. I have bought the STATS Handbook in the past but that's usually for use during the season, when I'm watching games and want to learn something about a player I see. I don't usually buy a preseason guide. This year - having a real job rather than being a student - I'll have less time than before for perusing books and learning about baseball. :(

I used to buy various sources, but now I don't have the money so I rely on ESPN and other websites.

I am getting into the habit of buying BP, and usually pick up The Sporting News preview. Then, there's that wonderful internet.

Basically just watch and read ESPN, but before I got the the 'Shrine I had never heard of Baseball Prospectus, Baseball America, or Stats, etc. I don't know if I will pursue those or not as I pretty much pretty the history of the game over current events.

i'm not too keen on the magazine-types any more, since those usually put too much emphasis on the rosters at the time of print, and invariably end up missing out on big trades/FA signings.

i mostly use the internet, but on print, i like BP and also liked the stats major league handbook...
