Not necesarily the BEST Player, b/c obviously, everyone would love to have ARod for the future. But I mean, the one player who maybe has been in the league for a while whom your team has always been "close" with during free agent negotiations, but never been able to reel him in. Someone who you can just picture in your teams uniform.

For me, when the Griffey rumors hit their height in 2000, I was giddy at the thought of him being a Brave. The thought of him chasing Aaron in a Braves uniform on TBS every night absoutely excited me. I still would love to have Griffey in a Braves uniform, which is why I ask....not the best player maybe, but the player who would be perfect for your oginiaztion....

Andrew

I've always wanted to see Nomar in an Orioles uniform. He'd be a fitting replacement to Ripken as the team's star.

Now I know how you felt when I went on and on about Lopez.........truce. I feel the same way about Nomar. I want to see him in a Bosox uni for life. Not too many players I have felt that way about.I can count them all on 1 hand in 15 years.

Yeah, in reality Nomar should never leave Boston. But if he does, he'd look good as an Oriole.

Dewey never should have been stabbed in the back and discarded either. O's have always been a class organization.....if we can't take care of Nomie.......you can have him James, but damn it......I hope Boston has learned a thing or two since those days!

I have to see Camden.....I saw the old stadium.....eeek what a dive! I have a card set of every player that played in the old staduim. I went on a date to the old stadium to see Dewey play there.

OOOOOOpse.........way off topic!

One player I would like to get........Roger Clemens would be a nastolic pick but a smart pick would be a Zito or a Lopez (sorry James).

I can't explain why, but, I think Trot Nixon would be the ideal RF for the Yankees. It will never happen. And, most Yankee fans kill me when I say it. I just like the way the guy plays. He's a ballplayer, to me.

Trot Nixon would be excellent no matter where he went. He is as gritty as Paul O'Neil, tempermental as Paulie, NY would love him playing for them. He is a hayseed, but so what. He is by far classier than Wells.

He has too much trade value to keep. If the Sox land Floyd, Nixon is out. Too bad. Salary arbitation is what will kill him. He was great when he was cheap. A's want him bad. BALT wants him, Yanks will have to get in the back of the line and anti up big time get him. Expos are offering big too.

If Trot moves, NY would have a better chance to get him after that - ala' Clemens. Perhaps my dream will come true?

I also like Bobby Kielty - but, just as a 4th OF for now.

Three names come to mind:

Andruw Jones
Nomar
A-Rod

I think I'd go with Andruw because of his ability to camoflage weak flank outfielders through his ability to cover so much ground. That and his relative youth

Brian Giles or Shawn Green.

I know it would never happen but I would love to see Greg Maddux in Comerica. I think the stadium would help him a ton and it would be awesome to see him pitch every five days.

I guess I will have to hang my hopes of superstar signings on the Red Wings.

I can't think of a specific name but if he's coming to the Royals he had better be one heck of a pitcher.

I'd love to see Vlad on my team, as well - he's who I thought of when I first saw this thread. Saying that with my Yankees fan hat on, I am ashamed at how many people think it's a foregone conclusion that Vlad will be a Yankee some day. So instead, I'll say it with my A's fan hat on. :)

Another player I love, who is nowhere near the calibre of most of the players mentioned on this thread, is Jamie Moyer. I can't explain it, but I just love that ol' junkballer. I'd be dancing in the streets if he came to the Yankees or the A's. Some things, you just can't explain.

Anybody Japanese who is either slightly talented or popular. As a Mariner fan, I want Gillick and then his successor to corner the market on Japanese players, because that's be so fun to watch.
Dreams of an all-Japanese outfield will have to be subsided, although if you pick up So...

Thome would have looked awfully good in a Twins jersey next season--watching him go after the "hefty bag" in right field and cutting down Rick Reed's home runs allowed by about ten per season.

Of course, Pohlad would never spend that kind of money......
