Go Navy. I can't claim you as my alma mater, but I can claim you as my birthplace!

I have been rooting for the USNA for almost fifty years. One of my fondest memories is going up the Cheapeake of a friend's 55 foot yacht and coming upon the UNSA unexpectedly (hey, I'm a midwesterner). It was a magic moment. Coincidently the USNA band was on the football field practicing. My buddy and I have always claimed the were playing to wlecome us to Annapolis.

If you haven't read John Feinstein's book "A Civil War" you are missing a classic in sports literature.

The Army-Navy game is the strongest sports rivalry in the country. Don't listen to those buffoons who says, "a game has to have meaning" before it is a great rivalry game. The thing that separates this game from all others is the alumni and their life long commitment to the schools.
