this would be cool - - at least to me - - cells bite the dust due to excess.

I can't imagine this country living again without cell phones.

People will continue to complain, but they'll all keep their cells. And it's hard to have sympathy for their problems when you almost get rear-ended by some jackass on his phone paying no attention to your brake lights and turn signal.

One of my all-time pet peeves is when a cell phone goes off in a classroom, in the middle of a lecture. I am proud to say I do not have a cell.

I am finding cell phones to be a nuisance. I have had cell phones for work. I find them tho be useful in certain situtations, but for the most part I can live without one. I currently do no have one, but I do catch myself occasionally considering getting one. I always come to the conclusion that it's just another bill I don't need to pay. I just wish that people were so rude with them. The one that drives me crazy is the person who makes a call because they're bored. Can't you find some other way to entertain yourself than talking on the phone? Ask yourself is this call really necessary?

Cell phones are not rude and stupid, but some of the people who use them are. As are some of the people who use cars, alcohol, the subway, etc. etc. etc.

Like other things, they can also be dangerous, if only in an indirect way. I think they distract people's attention. But it's true that it's always the person, not the product.

Lots of people who use them are rude. I was at a big lecture when one guy's kept going off every 4-5 minutes.

Also, at least up here New York States no cell phones when driving law doesn't seem to have been noticed.

How about those incredibly obtrusive Nextel phones? Nothing quite like listening to some guy getting his ass ate out by his wife over one of those damn things.

Like most things when used correctly the cell phone is incredibly useful. Unfortunately some people do not have the decency to insure that other people are not affected by their use. If it wasn't cell phones it would be something else.

When my father had to be taken to the hospital, a cell phone was vital in contacting family and letting them know who, what, when, where, why, and how.

For that, they're vital.
