Some people have nothing better to do....

Sunken piano could be music to Sox fans' ears (http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2002/0223/1339763.html)

Many things have been done (insert tounge in cheek) in the name of breaking the curse.

Nice to see a local (and well needed) charity gather a head of steam for it's cause. Mental illness accounts for the majority of the homeless population. De-institutionalization is a failed notion that has roots in Massachusetts. Finding and restoring this piano will do little to break the curse but will 1.) raise awareness of the plight of mental illness 2.)restoration of a highly sought collectable item will bring in a BIG payout for a sound well run charity.

I could not think of a better thing to do, could you Gus?

I just wish people were aware of these issues without resorting to this kinda stuff. I'm not familiar w/ the Restoration Project, or the kind of publicity they generate, etc., but had there been no 'curse', no piano, you wouldn't be hearing about this.

Fair enough Gus but that is the point. Mental illness is not well understood. There is a sect of the population that many wish go away. As long as they stay under bridges and the edge of the landfill many are happy.

I am blessed to work with a not for profit organization that has heroic nurses that scour the city to find the mentally ill under bridges and soup kitchens to deliver the much needed medication. By deinstitutioning the mentally ill vs making institutions more humane we have created a huge problem.

I don't care what is used to shine a light on the problem. Take a stab at the Soxs and resurect the "cursed piano" but nationally let's generate creative solutions to a problem that is not going away. Like I said, could not think of a better thing to do.

Wonder if this could be why the Red Sox have a history of sluggers who ran like they had a piano on their back?

Maybe they can get Viagra to sponsor pulling up the piano?

there's some thought that the lost piano is the key to The Curse.

The key to the curse is the early 20th century New Englanders. They sold out the Red Sox for the success of the Celtics and tastier clam chowder.

It is a tounge and cheek thing done for charity.

If you guys look more into to it, it is a worthy cause. This group teaches the mentally handicapped how to refinish furniture. They live in a group home and take pride in supporting themselves.

That is what I did with my 1918 check.:p ......it is all about karma!!!!

PSSSSSSTTTTTT........we already did a thread on this!;)

If [edited] said it it must be apochryphal. I can't believe anyone of that era used the word "sensor".
