Honestly, does that mean it is a turd? or it will make money on DVD?

Really, the word is that it is so good and scary that you will soil yourself.............

Haven't seen it, but I heard it isn't really scary, just extremely thrilling and shocking. Kind of like 6th sense.

I saw "The Exorcist" when I was a teenager, and left the theater looking over my shoulder. Maybe it was being a teenaged stoner, but it was easily the scariest movie I ever saw -- until I saw some real Japanese-language horror films at a festival. I left wondering why they keep the good stuff to themselves and marketed the Godzilla stuff to us.

Every once in awhile, a movie comes along that is supposed to be the scariest movie ever. "Blair Witch", "Jaws!", "Friday the 13th", "The Omen", "Dirty Dancing"...

The Ring is pretty damned scary, but I'm in my mid-40's now and get much more scared with a well-written ghost story. My teenaged son thought it was stupid (not enough Ninjas, I guess).

This is off-topic, but what's the forum record for most "re:"s in one post subject?

Wanted to push this thread up since we just rented Ringu and Ringu 2 (both with English subtitles).

Scarier than The Ring (US version). Creepier.

But then, I was always hoping that the Baywatch babes would come running out of my TV.

Everyone I know who saw both said that the original was scarier. I'll likely watch it soon, since there's not much at the theater right now worth seeing.

I didn't even know the second one was available.

I saw it this weekend, it was quite good, but I don't think it was as scary as some other recent suspense/horror movies like "The Others" or "Sixth Sense".

Saw it last night. It was a good movie, but not one I'll remember in 5 years. Worth the 3 bucks though. I agree with others that it wasn't so much scary as suspenseful.

i kinda liked it...the fact that i saw it with two cute girls who were holding on to me, at a university theatre charging $1.50 helped too...

Very skillfully done. Not what I anticipated. Enjoyed the writing and watching Naomi Watts. Looking forward to watching the original. Better than Blair Witch.

Is it just me, or does the Hot Rats album cover seem like a moment from The Ring?
