The BCS poll came out yesterday - and I'm curious which TWO of these teams you think will run out the schedule and play in the Fiesta Bowl?

I've listed only the undefeated teams, but if you think someone else will sneak in, click other and tell me who!

The undefeated teams
Team - Record - Remaining Schedule (home games in CAPS)
Oklahoma - 7-0 - COLORADO, Texas A&M, Baylor, TEXAS TECH, Oklahoma St. - (Big 12 Championship Game)
Miami - 6-0 - West Virginia, Rutgers, Tennessee, PITTSBURGH, Syracuse, VIRGINIA TECH
Notre Dame - 7-0 - Florida St., BOSTON COLLEGE, Navy, RUTGERS, Southern Cal.
Virginia Tech - 7-0 - TEMPLE, PITTSBURGH, Syracuse, WEST VIRGINIA, VIRGINIA, Miami (FL)
Georgia - 7-0 - Kentucky, Florida, MISSISSIPPI, Auburn, GEORGIA TECH - (SEC Championship Game)
Ohio State - 8-0 - PENN STATE, MINNESOTA, Purdue, Illinois, MICHIGAN
Bowling Green - 6-0 - BALL STATE, Kent State, Northern Illinois, South Florida, EASTERN MICHIGAN, Toledo - (MAC Championship Game)

By the way - I think Georgia and Miami are most likely to run out their schedules, and play in Tempe.

Miami because they get Virginia Tech at home, should beat Tennessee in Knoxville (even though I am pulling heavily for the Big Orange), and should trample the other teams (sorry, Sweaver, even West Virginia) they have left. Oklahoma hopefully will get by Texas A & M and the other teams. Luckily for them, none of the teams in the Big 12 North are juggernauts this year. Third choice would be Ohio State since all their difficult games are in Columbus, followed by Virginia Tech, who could upset Miami. I don't see Notre Dame getting by both Florida State and Souther Cal. None of the teams left for Georgia are easy games, plus they will probably get LSU (losers only at Virginia Tech) in the SEC championship game......

I chose Miami and Oklahoma for no great reason.

VT and OSU - though I think BG will go unbeaten as well.

Miami will and maybe Notre Dame. That's my pick for the title game.

As Ty Willingham fan, the resurgence of the Irish has been the story of college ball thus far. I think that IF ND gets past FSU, they will run the rest of the table and cap off a storybook season.

Virginia Tech has been mighty impressive both times I've seen them and I think that VT vs. MIA game is going to be the showdown of the year. However, I think VT will win the day and the berth to Tempe.

Georgia has a stacked schedule, so does OSU. Oklahoma is the wildcard. Their offense just isn't very good and I think COL smacks them down this weekend.

Go ND!

Miami and Oklahoma. At least i hope so. Those two are the two best in CFB and it would make one heck of a ballgame.

Hopefully the Iowa Hawkeyes can get some needed karma from the Northeast and pull off the upset at the Big House in Ann Arbour!:)

...have an easier time of it than Miami[Pitt is no slouch, Tenn is off/on,WVU can give them a game for awhile} Though Ty willingham has been golden,FSU runs out the streak in Fla. this weekend. Ok and Miami meet in tempe, Va Tech gets smoked, smoked by Miami in the Orange Bowl on Dec 7th..ND goes 9-2, OSU gets hsafted even though they go undefeated

Miami will run out the string. I think they will be the only undefeated team.

If Notre Dame has only one loss they will get the advantage in the BCS poll due to the strength of their schedule

If, by some miracle, Bowling Green is the only undefeated left standing at season's end , shouldn't they play for the national chhampionship ?

no. i liked the ONE POLL system - AP poll, and that's it. 8 team playoff.

Does the ND exemption (finish in top 8 BCS, 9 wins) apply to any non-BCS school, or just Notre Dame? I've got a hunch it's just ND, because of the royal screwing BYU took last year being forced to play in the Alamo Bowl (which they lost, but that's not the point).

It'll really stink if now #18 BG runs the table and takes a 13-0 record, a top 10 ranking, and a victory over Marshall into the Motor City Bowl.

There is certainly a good chance that BG could take an 11-0 record into the Toledo/MAC championship (probably Marshall) pair of games.

Notre Dame's deal with the BCS is just for ND. And BYU lost the Liberty Bowl last year (to Louisville), not the Alamo Bowl.

I stand corrected. Thank, Skip...

And that stinks.

Although I'm not sure that BG playing in the Sugar Bowl against... say... Virginia Tech would be a good thing for that program.

Oklahoma and Virginia Tech. It's going to be tough for VT to go into Miami and knock off the Canes though.

By the way, I have forgotten in this poll that the undefeated Wolfpack of North Carolina State are still in this mix as well.

Voting now I'd say OK and the Miami-VT winner. Notre Dame has nowhere to go but down playing two 1-7 teams then next two games. OSU always finds a way to mess up at the end.

OSU could run it out, and not pass the others. The schedule strength is going to kill us. the Golden Gophers and Wolverines are the two remaining games of merit on our schedule - and neither looks like it will help us much in schedule strength - especially after the Iowa drubbing of Michigan.

Although, according to the BCS, the best team in the nation to suffer a loss suffered that loss at the hands of Ohio State. Ohio State mauled Washington State earlier this year.

No way Bowling Green beats Marshall for the MAC championship.

I suspect ND will also finish undefeated, and then we'll have another big stink about the BCS. Looks like we'll have to pull that playoff plan out of the old file here!

You know... that old thread reminds me... I do miss the old setup!

Look at me... the BCS is ruining me.

Although - the idea of having 5-8 undefeated teams is unsettling enough to turn me into a tournament fan.

Still plenty of time for some of those teams to stumble.....but I am surprised Notre Dame knocked off Florida State.

I'm not surprised. FSU has spent the whole season self-destructing. While some commentators feel that ND dominated my take on the game is that FSU essentially beat itself

I note that FSU has changed QBs for this week's game

I do too. It was fun watching the bowl games knowing that the National Champion might emerge from any of three or four games. Also, if you were a fan of a particular team, you knew that if your team won the conference championship where they would be playing. This meant:

a) you could book hotels and transportation well in advance
b) if by chance your team folded, you'd know where a body of fans were that would gladly purchase such accommodations from you

TV feed up here..FSU got waxed, at home...luckily they put a couple of late scores on after ND had called the dogs in...and still, the caoches and writes love Bobby Bowden so much so put them in the top 20 again...absurd...

Closing this one up since the situation has changed so much. Refer to the BCS thread, with no poll attached.
