does anybody know of any good books about scouting? i alreday read "dollar sign on the muscle," which I would reccomend to everybody.

"Dollar Sign" is the best known. "Baseball Is a Funny Game" by Garagiola has a very funny chapter about scouting that is also very revealing. Bill James talks about scouting frequently in the New Historical Baseball Abstract. One of Roger Angell's books, can't remember which right this second, has a good chapter on travelling with scout Ray Scarborough.

Can't think of many books just about scouting, though.

i am kindof surprised by lack of books out there. dollar sign is terriffic and i read the book by syd thrift and was very dissapointed.

"Super Scout" by Jim Russo?

Skip - - the guy I'm thinking of was named Tony, I think.

Baden Powell was also the name of a very famous samba musician....
