I've been here a few days now. I like the place. It's dedicated to baseball, how could I not like it?
I'm Canadian, so I'm split between the Jays and the always heartbreaking Expos.
I've been picking lazily at the history of the game for years. I still know very little, except that its growing pains seem endless. And are endlessly fascinating, as are the lives of those who made and make the game.
Last year I caught the fantasy baseball bug, after dismissing it in ignorance for years. If ignorance is bliss, the combination of baseball and fantasy ball is Emily Dickinson's searing, unending agony of transport between emptiness and fulfillment. I don't miss bliss.
And I'm a bit of a smartass. I'll be here often, mostly reading, sometimes posting.
