I was told to introduce myself at this forum, so here I am. I'm a high school senior from Vancouver, WA. My one and only true sports allegiance is to the Seattle Mariners, who I have followed as long as I've been a fan of baseball. My knowledge of baseball history pre-1995 is quite horrible, which is part of the reason why I came here. I am very interested in baseball in general, but more specifically in sabermetrics (and developing a better method of gauging relative offensive production). My free time is primarily occupied by rugby, golf, football, and the occaisional backpacking or fishing trip. If you have any questions about me, my interests, or anything else, feel free to reply accordingly.

Welcome -

Poke around the "library" section - though you can't go wrong with buying every Bill James book, and then also every Baseball Prospectus - and then branching out on your own.

So you were born AFTER Al Chambers and the days and nights of Bob Stinson....I am so old.....

I can honestly say I knew how the M's felt. I hope you continue that glow of hope.:)

I used to play, in fact I was a pretty good pitcher, but injuries forced me to quit playing. Ironically enough, after being injured I switched to rugby, which is by far a more dangerous sport.

And yes, like any true M's fan I do still believe. It's a long shot, but if they beat the A's today and the Angels lose again, the proverbial ball will be in our court.

Welcome aboard.

Not to send you into fits of horror, but I STILL gets goosebumps when I think of Kenny Lofton scoring from 2nd on a Unit wild pitch in that classic Tribe/M's series.

Keep the faith, the M's ain't done quite yet. You're still in it.

rk been thinking of you. Know how you feel. Been a hell of a season. Solution is to take the division and leave this wild card bs to someone else. Sound like a plan?;)

Welcome aboard - it's about time we heard from the beautiful Pacific Northwest , one of my favorite parts of the country. My stepson is a manger with Microsoft, so I get up there now and then for a visit. Safeco Field is neat and so is that microbrewery accross from it

Keep posting !
