Having an announcement and then six notes on the Chatter board is quite a distraction, I think. It's hard to follow what's going on in that forum and it seems that there are a lot fewer posts there in the past two days.

The Award polls are at the top of HBC so that people (coming to the forum for the first time - or first time in a long time) can see them and vote. Once the season is over, they will be "unstuck" from the top of the forum.

Most frequent visitor members use the "View New Threads" feature in lieu of looking at the forums directly. If you do this as well, it should be a non-issue for you.

But, again, bottom line, the polls will only be there for 10 more days. Deal with it.
