6) Larry Walker passed Mo Vaughn and tied Chuck Klein for 91st place on the all time HR list, with 300.

7) The Indians tied the major league record by coming back from a 12 run deficit to win a game.

The Mariners took a 12-0 lead by scoring 4 in the top of the 2nd and 8 in the 3rd. After the Indians scored 2 in the bottom of the 4th, the Mariners restored their 12 run lead by scoring 2 in the top of the 5th. The Indians then scored 3 in the bottom of the 7th, to make it 14-5, 4 in the 8th, to make it 14-9 and tied the game with 5 in the 9th.

With 1 out in the bottom of the 11th, Kenny Lofton singled, went to 2nd when Omar Vizquel singled and Jolbert Cabrera's RBI single completed the comeback.

8) The Orioles placed Jay Gibbons on the 15 day DL and recalled OF Larry Bigbie.

9) The Diamondbacks activated SS Tony Womack from the DL.

Getting Womack back is bad news for the team. He's hitting just .303 SLG, .273 OBA, .576 OPS, -27 RCAA, .239 OWP, 3.15 RC/G. His OPS is the worst in the majors, while his RCAA is 2nd worst.

Being a liability is nothing new for Womack, as he came into the year with a .692 career OPS, compared to his league's average of .780, and he's had a negative RCAA every season in which he's had more than 40 PA.

10) Astros P Wade Miller had to leave yesterday's game, after suffering a cut on his finger in a collision at 1B. HE's day to day, and may have to have next start pushed back.

In his first full year in the majors, Miller is having a good year, with 19 RSAA in 23 starts.

1) The Twins say P Brad Radke's injured right thumb will force to miss his next start. There is speculation that he could end up going on the DL, but the Twins will wait and see what happens before they make that move.

Radke's having another good season, with 18 RSAA in 24 starts. He's had at least 19 RSAA 4 times in the previous 5 years, while his 106 RSAA ranked 4th in the AL during that span.

2) Astros C Tony Eusebio has a sprained right elbow and is expected to miss a week.

Eusebio's hitting .473 SLG, .363 OBA, .836 OPS, 1 RCAA, .531 OWP, 6.84 RC/G in 39 games. That's star performance, when compared to starter Brad Ausmus, who's at .310 SLG, .262 OBA, .572 OPS, -30 RCAA (worst in the majors), .193 OWP, 2.92 RC/G.

3) BlueJays SS Alex Gonzalez missed yesterday's game, due to an illness.

Gonzalez is having his typically bad year, hitting .395 SLG, .295 OBA, .690 OPS, -18 RCAA, .375 OWP, 4.28 RC/G. He came into the season with a .691 career OPS, compared to a league average of .782 and a league SS average of .730. Only a 0 RCAA season, in 38 games in 1999, prevented him from having a double digit negative RCAA every year since he became a starter in 1995. He came into the year with career totals of -119 RCAA and -56 RCAP.

I recall during the offseason, there was an article that listed Gonzalez as one of the top 10 free agents, before he re-signed with the BlueJays. I ridiculed that article by making a list that showed Gonzalez wasn't even in the top 10 if the free agent list was just limited to players with 4 letter first names.

4) Mariners 2B Bret Boone was out of the lineup yesterday, but it was just a day off.

5) The Rangers expect to activate OF Chad Curtis from the DL some time this week.

6) The Diamondbacks activated P Bobby Witt and sent INF Alex Cintron and P Erik Sabel to the minors.

Sabel, in his first season in the majors (excluding a 7 game callup in 1999), has had a 3.80 ERA and 5 RSAA in 45 games. He's not a promising prospect, but at least he's having a good season.

On the other hand, no pitcher in modern baseball history (1900-), with 2000+ IP, had a worse career ERA than Witt's 4.84.

Meanwhile, rotowire.com says the team also sent C Mike DiFelice to the minors. But, I believe that report's wrong. DiFelice wasn't mentioned in the transactions list. He wasn't mentioned in a couple of AP reports on the Diamondbacks moves. Also, with Womack being activated, that's 2 players added with 2 players dropped, and sending DiFelice down would upset that balance, thus requiring another roster move.

7) The Rockies designated OF Kimera Bartee for assignment and activated OF Mark Little from the DL.

8) Cardinals 1B Mark McGwire was able to return to the lineup, after missing 3 games due to a knee injury.

9) Indians RF Juan Gonzalez returned to the lineup, after missing 6 games with a strained hamstring.

10) Angels P Troy Percival recorded his 200th career save.

11) The Tigers tied the major league record by scoring just 1 run for the 5th consecutive game. They became the 8th team to do it and the first since the 1968 Dodgers.

12) Marlins P Ryan Dempster reached 500 career SO.

How bad are these marks relative to the time in which they were scored? Like an ERA v League ERA thing?
