Whoops - I'm new

[NJYANKEE]

Well, I've made a few posts before introducing myself here, I hope it wasn't a breech of etiquette. I can remember how I stumbled upon the site but I'm glad I did. I can't get enough baseball talk, and it helps those slow work days go by a little quicker.

As you can guess I'm a die hard Yankee fan from NJ (sorry to all of you Yankee haters, there seems to be quite a few of us on here). While I don't appologize for our recent success (how can I after the late 80's/early 90's?), I'd like to think that I can be objective about most issues concerning improvement of the game.

My one question is (sorry if it's silly) - how can I get an avatar? I'm jealous.

Welcome NJY. While we hardly need another Yankee fan, I'll just have to get by as best I can :D

To get an avatar, go to the "user cp" button on the top right of the screen, then press "edit options" and go to the bottom of the screen. Your choices are somewhat limited at first, but the more you post, the more you get ...

Ugh, another Yankees fan. ;) Just kidding, welcome njyankee.

This forum is dominated by Yankees, Red Sox, and Cubs fans. It just goes to show which teams have the best fans in the game. I've only found one other Padres fan in this forum, but I'm hoping our numbers will increase as word continues to get out about NetShrine. Until then, the rest of us will try not to drown in the tide of Yankee propaganda. :D

Welcome NJYankee. I'm a fan of Yankee baseball history. I like Joe Torre because he played for the Atlanta Braves as a catcher in the 1960's. Loved manager Billy Martin. Hate that he is gone. Like Reggie Jackson too-man he could hit some shots. Yankees deserve a lot of credit, but I wish Boston could overtake them one year soon. lol
