David Cone is 6-1 with an ERA of 4.24.

Looks nice enough.

But, he's barely averaging 5 IP per start. He is averaging 1 HR per start. He's allowing 13.5 baserunners per 9 IP (compared to his lifetime mark of 11.2). And, he has the 2nd highest Run Support of any Red Sox starter (6.1) - being next to Ohka (who's not that far ahead of him).

Ask me - he's doing it with rosin dust and shiny objects.

Spoken like a spurned Yankee fan. Hey - so far only going 5 IP has not hurt him or the team. Could be a real drap on the bullpen, though, with him and Saberhagen in the rotation.

No way - - I'm glad he's not on the Yanks, speaking as a Yankee fan. Just for all the reasons stated before - plus the price tag that comes with it.
