Who do you think is the best utility player playing today? Mark McLemore? Melvin Mora? Placido Polanco? Why do they all have the same first and last initials?

Maybe they're superheroes? :) Don't forget Craig Counsell.

He plays everyday in LF, no? Not really utility in the sense of rex hudler or joe mcewing utility.

Except for HE WHO CANNOT BE NAMED, there aren't a lot of managers who use true utility guys.
He can't be a regular, and he has to play some in the OF as well as the IF.

Frank Catalanto has been very good the last couple of years, but I think his days of playing 2B are over in Texas as long as Michael Young keeps it up. I think I'd take him over McLemore although McLemore does have a bit more versatilty since he can play SS.

McLemore has only been playing everyday in LF because of the Edgar injury...he's my pick when allowed to play 5 games/week: 3 in the OF, 1 at SS and 1 at 2B.
Mora is anothe guy who should be more versatile than he's allowed to be right now.
But Denny Hocking, Lou Merloni, Tony Graffanino, and Joe McEwing are also on the list....

He can also be seen in RF [altho not too often w/Ichiro out there], CF, SS, 3B, 2B, and 1B. And even DH.
