Per SmedIndy's suggestion, I shall introduce myself. Baseball has been my lifelong passion since I was 5 years old. Unfortunately, I wasn't much of a player. I played one year on the high school varsity team and got splinters in my hind end.
Since I wasn't going to feed myself playing baseball, I decided to do something else for a living, like become an engineer. Funny though, I don't do much engineering.
I have three boys, ages 2 - 7 and no girls (my poor wife!). The 7 and 5 years olds are playing coach-pitch and t-ball respectively. Unfortunately, no one will make a movie on either one and call it "the Natural"! Oh well, they have fun, I guess. However, the 2 year old is showing some talent and interest. He doesn't care much about toys, just wants a bat or ball in his hands. Six months ago, he threw a half of a hollow plastic egg at his bedroom wall and put a dent in the drywall. I'll bet his older brothers couldn't do that if they tried! Needless to say, I'm not doing anything to discourage him from throwing things around or swinging bats, broomsticks, his brothers' toy light sabers, etc.
Don't know what else to say other than I don't have a favorite team. It's hard when you're a transplant and the nearest local team is the Detroit Tigers. Too bad I'm not much of a Red Wings fan. Otherwise I'd be partying in Detroit right now instead of sitting at my computer typing this.
