Here I go, nervously pecking at the keyboard so as to not alienate myself already:
1. My first name is Chris.
2. I have the privilege of having the Cleveland Indians as my all-time favorite team...my first-ever game program was from 1976 with the infamous Wayne Garland on the cover.
3. I found the Shrine via Lee's ATM and Will's UTK; one is the chicken and one is the egg, I forget which came first
4. I really like the fresh bantering on these boards. I feel so remedial for waiting so long.
5. Aside from enjoying the Tribe and Bob Feller history, my wife and I are rabid Nine Inch Nails fans. We enjoyed Trent before he was "big" at the Agora in Cleveland, and now scalp for mosh pit tix when he comes to Raleigh and Charlotte (l'il ol' Greensboro isn't worthy of a visit from Mr. Reznor).

Welcome, NC. You have some other Indians fans here to hobnob with, so at least there's company.
Me, I root for Ohio's other team.:D

Ohio's "other" team? Which one: the Akron Aeros or the Mahoning Valley Scrappers?
;)

BTW, we have not had an Indian fan weigh in on the "let's make a deal thread.
It is in Just Shooting it. Have fun!!

Hey Chris.
Garland wasn't an Indian until 1977. I had a table baseball game with the 1976 players, and for some reason, I could make the Indians win a lot. I think it was because I only pitched Rick Waits in blowouts...and forgot Don Hood existed.
And how could you forget the 2B / SS trio of Frank Duffy, Duane Kuiper, and Larvell "Sugar Bear" Blanks. Enough to make you want to chew your own foot off!
Glad to have you on board!

Glad to have been an egg ... or a chicken. Or something.
Actually, it just makes me beam inside someone mentions me in the same sentence with Lee.

Someone else from NC? How strange....
I'm from Winston-Salem, which as you know is only about 30 minutes away.
Also, my name is Trent....(not the drummer......yet:D )

I am in Greensboro, almost smack dab (geez I sound like a local) in the middle of MINOR LEAGUE HEAVEN! (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Kannapolis, Charlotte, Asheville, Durham, Burlington, Carolina, Salem (VA), Danville (VA),.....I could go on and on.
When I see the relative snippiness of millionaire players vs. billionaire owners, I relish the fact that there are so many players on teams down here that play because they LOVE it!!!
I wax all sentimental on of all you......

Wow. My first MLB program WAS from 1977, not 1976.
My life has been a complete lie. Now am I really going to be 31 or just 30 this year......???? Who knows now?

Welcome aboard. Here in Central Florida we have a disproportionate number of Indians fans. THis was true even during the dark days between 1970 and 1989. Although I am a Red Sox fan, I think I understand Indian fans a little , having purchased and read Terry Pluto's THE CURSE OF ROCKY COLAVITO (A Loving Look At A Thirty-Year Slump)
May Fred Whitfield and Joe Azcue smile on you
