I'm curious if anyone knows of a high quality board like Netshrine, except basketball. I'm going to do a UTKHoops - basketball version of my Under The Knife newsletter - and was hoping to find a place like this, good people, intelligent chatter ... any suggestions welcome.
On another note, I contacted two NBA sources regarding my thought and the difference between the NBA and MLB is amazing. Inside of 48 hours, I got a leaguewide press pass, web access to a cool press section of NBA.com, clearance to use team names and logos ... just a stunning difference.

Will -
If you ask the NHL, they may let you drop the ceremonial puck in the Stanley Cup finals! They're THAT much more accomidating than even the NBA (except for the Leafs and the Blackhawks).

But a hockey injury newsletter would suck ...
"Tie Domi was smacked in the face repeatedly and took sixteen stiches. He returned to the game and had two assists.
Eric Cole took a puck to the face, lost an eye, four teeth, and took twenty stiches. He returned to the game and had a goal.
Peter Forsberg had his spleen cut out with the butt end of a stick. He had surgery between periods and seemed a bit slowed during the third period."

So Will, is it worse to be disemboweled or have your eyes gauged out by hockey sticks? How long till they return to action? Can they get back in by the 3rd period?

If there's a basketball forum as quality as this please let me know.
I find that basketball chat is filled with teens and their colorful banter, if you get my drift.
Nothing wrong with teens or colorful banter but.......:o
Good luck in your quest.

Hey, they're hockey players!
Jeff Reese was once on the IR because of...well....a rupture in a particular area caused by a puck hitting it at full speed....
Anyway, back to hoops. You'd have to wade through the real injuries versus the "hip flexors" and "ankle sprains" that place rookies on the IR for most of the season.
I mean, how bad was Norm Richardson's ankle that he missed 40 games or so before being traded?

I pass by the NEW basketball HOF on my way to work everyday.
Wow! Looks like a they are doing a nice job. Should be ready in the fall.
Basketball boards? Fanhome has a sports board and it has basketball (never been in, but they list basketball.)

It would be even worse than that because the NHL teams all lie.
"Steve Yzerman was slashed across the wrists in yesterdays game. he is listed as day to day with a broken ankle."
"Peter Forsberg seemed to be missing a semi-important body part after last year's playoffs. He will miss the first half of the season with a broken ankle."
