I have a decent collection and have a short list of a few titles that I am actively looking for. One thing I'd like to do is complete my set of the 1940-50s Putnam team histories. I have all except for the three scarcest- Povich on the Senators, Lieb on the Orioles and Baumgartner on the Phillies.

Southern Illinois U has now reprinted five from the set (Cubs, Cards, Yanks, Dodgers and Giants). I have suggested to them that they could get excellent sales by reprinting the three that aren't available for under $300. It may help the cause if anyone else in my situation told them the same thing.

One other thought...Sports Publishing has done about eight team encyclopedias (nothing roundbreaking, but pretty complete) and are trying to buy the titles from Temple Press. They sound like they're going to do about 18 of them...mostly on the long-standing teams plus the Mets and Padres.

Would anyone besides me like to see an encyclopedia-type product focusing on the expansion teams? Seems like one area that isn't easy to fill right now.

I wouldn't mind....but I'd rather see fresh takes on the history...
