For a nation that has a real hang-up on pubic hair, Japan is really stuffing the box.
Sorry - - some times I can't help myself
(PS - For those who don't know, in Japan, it's a real :nono: to have your pubic hair seen - - just about anything else goes, and, if you've seen Japanese TV, you'll know - - some really "wild" things - - but, pubic hair is taboo.)

NEW YORK -- Major League Baseball's decision to extend All-Star voting to Japan is paying off for Ichiro Suzuki.
The leadoff hitter of the Seattle Mariners has received 187,730 All-Star votes, placing him second among outfielders, which means a possible start for the rookie in his home stadium when the Mid-Summer Classic is played July 10 at Safeco Field.
Suzuki is just 1,041 votes behind Red Sox slugger Manny Ramirez and 23,647 ahead of Cleveland's Juan Gonzalez. Barring injury, the top three will receiving starting assigments in the 72nd All-Star Game.
In addition to the United States and Japan, fans throughout Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic can vote for their favorite players. The starters will be announced July 2.
AL manager Joe Torre of the New York Yankees will pick the reserves and pitchers.
Texas Rangers catcher Ivan Rodriguez is the American League's top vote-getter thus far with 229,159. If Rodriguez was elected, the 1999 AL Most Valuable Player would match Johnny Bench's major league record by starting behind the plate in nine straight All-Star Games.
Also above the 100,000-vote mark are Toronto first baseman Carlos Delgado (113,197), Seattle designated hitter Edgar Martinez (182,032), shortstops Alex Rodriguez (139,778) of Texas and Derek Jeter (114,168) of New York and second baseman Roberto Alomar (200,269) of Cleveland and Bret Boone (131,636) of Seattle.
Baltimore Orioles legend Cal Ripken (98,130) is the leader among third basemen.
