Does anyone know of a playbyplay of the first inning of a game that Rickey Henderson played in on September 16, 1998?
I am working on details for his steals and the playbyplay from CBSSportsline misses that he stole second in the first.
He either did it during Ryan Christenson's AB or Jason Giambi's AB...

I think retrosheet.org does box scores - but, I'm not sure whether they do play-by-play.

I'd try to help but I was celebrating my 28th birthday by changing my last name.

I'm getting a lot of the older playbyplays (from 1978-1990) from Retro, but they only go up to 1990, with box scores up to 2000.
Before they added all of that info to their public site (with all the extra box scores, etc...), they had one that you could only get to if someone told you the URL and in it, they had game logs for everyone up to 2000.
When they made it all public, they took all the game logs from 1991-2000 out because they couldn't put down what position they played or stat splits....
I'm glad I printed out game logs for my fav. players those years since I can't find them anywhere else.

Just felt like sharing a story about retrosheet...:D

Does anyone think I should just guess who was at bat?
That way, I know how many outs there were when he stole second.

I thought I'd found the answer in the Baseball Weekly archives, but it only had the play-by-play for innings in which there were runs. I'll keep looking to see if I can dig anything up.

Thanks, Craig.
It always seems that when they leave something out of a box score or playbyplay, it always happens when they don't score.
USATODAY has old playbyplays, but only when the team scored.
There was another instance I found looking for Rickey info where I had the same problem.
