How far the mighty have fallen:
Julio Zuleta cleared waivers and was assigned to Iowa.
Return from the Dead:
Mets purchased the contract of Tony Tarasco.

The Angels couldn't have used Zuleta?

The Angels could have used Zuleta in a heartbeat. Stoneman is asleep at the wheel out there.
Of course, there are several teams that could use Zuleta on their bench. I am very surprised no one claimed him, unless there is an implicit agreement there.

Halos probably thought his name sounded too much Julio Valera - - I think that was a bad experience for them?

THE Tony Tarasco?
Ozzie Timmons and Brooks Kieschnieck, come back, all is forgiven!
And Robin Jennings can't stick either?
Don't get me started on Petagine.

I got Tony's (mop head as the wife called him) autograph down at Spring Training this year. Nice guy. I find myself pulling for him, although it ain't a good sign for the Mets if he's playing for them.

It the Mets want some press, they could bring out Jeff Maier and have him and Tony sing GBA over the PA during the 7th inning stretch. Nah, probably too much of a Yankee connection.
