View Full Version : Two Questions

Two questions I would like answered. Deep thought is not required.
1) Do the Red Sox skip either Wakefield or Cone in the rotation so that Pedro still gets the start on Thursday against the Yanks? In my mind, they definitely should.
2) With Clay Bellinger being sent to AAA Columbus, isn't Sojo the only ifielder on the Yankee bench? One reserve infielder? Pretty thin.

Sox rotation works off Pedro - his day never moves. Reportedly, Wakefield gets bumped, Cone today, and Pedro on Thursday. I'll be there Thursday. Would rather see Cone :confuse2: than Pedro
Bellinger will probably be back the first day he's eligible to be returned - - most likely, Yanks are buying time to figure out if they can move Coleman.
Biggest problem would be if Jeter and Soriano leave the same game - - that may force Knobby back to 2B for a day. 3B and 1B can be backed up by many - H-Rod, Posada, Oliver - in a pinch.
All of the above - just my theory.
No deep thoughts required, Wakefield is put in a reliever's position until his next start which appears to be Sunday...according to inside sources. And thanks for confirming that the universe revolves around Pedro.
And ditto what Net said about Bellinger. It might be a thin bench, but we'll manage just fine.

Without knowing the Red Sox rotation (i.e. When Pedro is up) I thought everybody was going to be pushed back a game.
Much to my delight (and Net Shrine's chagrin) I get to see Cone square off vs. AP tonight.
Got this from the NY Post:
One of the reasons Red Sox manager Jimy Williams stayed with Cone for tonight's start after last evening's game was rained out is so Martinez can pitch three times
against the Yankees in 11 days. Martinez goes tomorrow, next Wednesday at Fenway Park and June 4 at Yankee Stadium when last night's game will be made up.
Great, seeing Pedro three times in 11 days. Can't wait!!

As Chili Davis said about Gooden 15 years ago:
"He ain't God, man."
He has to lose sometime. :)

That is true, Pedro ain't god, but the Yankees have beaten him (once him, twice the bullpen) the last three times they played.
Maybe going against Pedro is what this team needs. Someone to really wake them up.

Also, if they do see him 3 times in 11 days, it helps (them get used to his stuff/patterns) - - I wonder if any pitcher wants to face the same team 3 times in 11 days?
