Now, this is a sad franchise.

Empty seats line the right of field of Tropicana Field , in St. Petersburg, Fla. shortly before the Tampa Bay Devil Rays play the Detroit Tigers in the second game of a three game series on Saturday, May 19, 200. A sign near the signs warns baseball fans attending a Devil Rays promotion that all may not receeve autographs.

I actually have some sympathy for the Devil Rays when I see so many empty seats. On the other hand, I don't because they're still a fairly new team, therefore they will have their chance.

Most feel this is the team most likely to disband. Not so sure if they have many chances at all?

It's a shame to see this kind of attendance at Devil Rays (and Expos) games, while baseball fans in the DC area still don't have a team of their own.

Less than 50 years ago, the NYC area, which had less people then, were able to support three teams - - - that said, I know in my heart that, if New Jersey got a team, people would fill the place.

Problem is, Yanks and Mets would block any team going to NJ. Shame, it's a huge state - - and has millions of baseball fans.
