If you know anything about any of the following seven books, please start a thread on it. Thanks! I'm curious about each of these - whether or not they would be a good read and wise pick-up.

Geez, you couldn't put the names in the post too?

Lords of Baseball, by Parrott, has gotten good press as an "inside look" at front offices. It was originally published in the 1970s.

Checks and Imbalances by Barzilla I haven't seen.

Late and Close by Voltano is new.

Clearing the Bases by Barra and Costas is not scheduled out until April.

100 Greatest Games of All Time by Windwalker I haven't seen.

Outrageous Fortune (Hall of Fame Voting) by Vail is also unknown to me.

Baseball filmography by Erockson also sounds interesting.

According to amazon.com, only 3 of these are currently out. Sad to say, I haven't read any of them.

I just ordered Outrageous Fortune: What's Wrong With Hall of Fame Voting and how to Make it Statistically Sound, by Vail.

I also got its companion book, The Road to Cooperstown: A Critical History of Baseball's Hall of Fame Selection Process, also by Vail.

I'm currently working on having to change every file extension at Baseball Immortals (all 13,888 of them), to take into account that I am now going to be using server side includes to handle the borders. Yes, it is as big a pain in the ass as it sounds.

Tomorrow, I should also have Baseball Prospectus, which will go right on the top of my list of things to do.

But, when I finish those, I'll take care of the 2 books by Vail and will report back to this forum.
