Any franchise more messed up than Tampa Bay? Bad Stadium, bad team, bad TV deal (if I remember right?), owner that's a Big Stein wannabe - - - what a waste.

If you fire your manager two weeks into the season after he's been there for two years, you realy should've fired yourself.

By the way, Hal McCrae is the new manager over there

Funny - - I'm almost quick to say "Another re-cycle! Why bother?" But, then I remember that I said that when the Yanks hired Torre - - shows what little I know.........

When the upcoming labor outage gets to contraction, the 'Rays should go to the top of the list.

Contraction is going to happen, like it or not.

Labor and contraction in the same post - - seems only right.

You've given thought for another thread. Way to go!

Labor and contrction, though, when talking about female umps really puts things in perspective. You think the umpire union has a maternity leave policy?

Congrats on the upgrade to Hot Prospect!

To the Q: Many umps look like they're pregnant, maybe they should?

Eric Gregg (sic) where are you now? Baseball could bring him back to lead the La Maz (sic) classes.

Reminds me of the old radio joke:

"Today is Elvis' birthday - If Elvis was alive today...........(pause)............

...........he'd probably weigh 500 pounds."

Saw Gregg on TV, sitting by the phone, broke, praying that baseball will call him back. Hope he gets over it. They ain't calling.

A few weeks ago, Devil Rays GM Chuck Lemarr said he was ready to fire Rothschild the day after last season ended. But, then Rothschild showed up at the team offices and Lemarr didn't have the heart to follow through with it.

What a terrible way to run a baseball team.

Chuck could never work for the Big Stein!

I don't know, Net. What about that age old adage, 'Birds of a feather, flock together.'

He's apparantly a diabetic and can't afford his medicines, he applied for support from some organization that exists solely to help old baseball people (can someone help here?) and was denied.
He's stil big as a house but wants back in baseball and has been doing a few interviews about it...I think real sports.
