Just arrived.
See they went back to the larger (1993-2000) format. But, it still seems to have less content. Just me, or, was this a better book circa 1998-99?

I stopped getting it when they started printing the Super Register. In fact, I am cancelling my BA subscription. It doesn't add any value to me, because a lot of the info I can get on line.

Yeah, but, unless you have an internet connection in your crapper, the print verison is still required.

That's where I read my rock history and theory books!

Hey guys, just found this forum. I work at Baseball America and just wanted to say that this year's almanac is the biggest, baddest and bestest (yeah, well it's getting late in the work day, sorry) one we've ever published: pages, content, etc. Not sure what made the 1998-99 years the glory days of almanac publishing. But the 2002 edition has more stuff than any other.
Each book we do serves its own purpose. The Almanac chronicles every important level of baseball - no one else does this. It's not the same as the Super Register, which is very cool, but is stats only. The Prospect Handbook we have is also very cool. But that is, of course, prospects only. The Directory is also a cool book. Heck, they're all very cool, and they'll all be available soon. No one puts this kind of information together (magazine, website, books) like we do.
Anyway, that's my little sales pitch of the day. Not sure what I could add to the toilet conversation. We at Baseball America think Charmin Ultra has a more potential than Cottonelle. By the way - click below

to go to the toilet paper virtual museum. There's no succinct way to explain how I got that link. That being said, it's 100 times better than having to explain why you created that link (which I did not do, thank goodness.)

Blair - welcome to the forum!
I hope you'll stick around and be a regular contributor!
I have to amend my post about the BBA Almanac - - now that I've had a chance to go through it more. It seems some of the stuff that was taken out of the last few years editions, like individual team top ten prospect lists, are back - - and, even better than before - - just placed slightly different in the book than in years past.
I would recommend the book - as well as BBA - to any baseball fan. BTW, I've been a subscriber since way back when, and, I have to share that any time I've had the need to call BBA, the staff on the phones has been absolutely super. Nicest people you ever want to talk to, IMHO.

BBA is still the best source of minor league info, even if they haven't bought into the sabermetrics revolution.
