Who is the only player to ever lead his league in strikeouts, errors, and caught stealing in the same season?

Juan Samuel?

No. Very good guess, but he never led the league in all 3 in one season.

If this is errors at their position and not overall, I'll answer "Barry's Father". :) Poor dad's gonna be known as that in the baseball community as long as Barry is the greatest player of his generation.

Barry's dad's already been guessed, it's not him.
I got this question from the new Bill James book. This player is not very well known, but he was actually a very good offensive player. In fact, in the book James says that he is one of only 2 players in history to have played more than 1000 career games, played primarily at a key defensive position and be above average in every single offensive category (Avg., OBP, Slg., 2B/AB, 3B/AB, HR/AB, R/AB, RBI/AB, SB/AB, BB/AB, and K/AB). (The other was Jackie Robinson.)

Then it must be George Grantham.
I can see why they called him "Boots". :)

If Grantham played longer, I'd have given him a NetShrine nomination by now. Actually, I still might.
Based on the stats I have, he was better then Joe Gordon, so that says a lot. If I had a credit card to buy the database, I'd check the RCAP's...they might be pretty close.
He's one of those guys I tabulated and thought "How did HE get up here?"...we've probably come across those many times in our lifetime.

It is Grantham. In the James article it states that Grantham won the "Juan Samuel" triple crown in 1923, leading the league in CS, E, and SO. But actually Juan Samuel never led the league in all 3, at least not in the same season.
Guess I got overly cute in my last post as it didnt seem to provide the necessary hint. Alls well that ends well. Since I had to cheat anyway, I didnt feel right just spitting out the answer. :)
