Another Homer vote.....this time for the Indians. I think they kept enough pieces together and added some nice bullpen parts in the offseason. Plus bringing in Dellucci and Nixon to platoon and fill in holes in other players' swings can't be ALL bad.
Go Tribe!

A Homer vote, but not for the Springfield Isotopes?
This their year. Just wait until the sniper comes at the some star break.

Well, I'm confident it won't be the Royals or the Sox. What the heck, I'll take the Tribe.

I'd prefer the Tribe, but I think the Twinkies have a better chance

Huh. No love for the Tigers so far.

The Indians will win a ton of games where the loser scores more than five runs... I think the Twins will miss that kid pitcher and the Tigers will have to deal with more than one Chef (Shef) in the kitchen.

yeah the indians got hitters, but that's ALL they got.
i can't see any reason why the tigers won't repeat - well, yeah, i know the twins actually won the division, but they have ponson, ramon ortiz and whoziz instead of liriano, so i have my doubts bout them too.

That's ALL the Indians have? How about one of the most consistent rotations in baseball the last 2 years. I don't think there's another team that can say they've had as many innings by their starting pitching in the past 2 years.
Sabathia's an ace, Westbrook is a consistently better than average workhorse, Byrd is average, but he's only holding down the 4 spot. Sowers pitched well last year. Cliff Lee is the most overrated of the top 5.
Now, bullpen and defense, yeah, those are weak spots, but the CAN'T be any worse than last year's HISTORICALLY bad numbers.
They have more than you think.

The Twins just keep developing players at a phenomenal rate. The loss of Liriano will hurt, but the Twins have done it before and will probably do it again. After thier sensational start up to the all-star break the Tigers have just been so-so. You have to like the acquisition of Sheffield, though. Who knows with the Indians, maybe we were expecting too much of them last year. The White Sox seem to be crumbling before our eyes.

rascal,
yeh, the indians pitchers have a lot of innings, but they don't look real too quility to me, except for millwood's season in 05. i know that some people really think if you have a very heavy hitting lineup it doesn't matter how bad the pitching and defense is, but the indians have hithithit and they didn't d very well.

i sure do wish i knew how the twins kept developing prospects as well as they do. i wish my astros developed players as well.

Does anyone still think this is true? 2 legitimate Cy Young candidates on the staff and 2 of the best middle relief men in the AL this year in Perez & Betancourt.
(I'd still like to know what happened to the Pronk that Tribe fans have grown accustomed to)

hi rascal
sabathia has been better than i thought he would be and who expected carmona to come out of LF like that? and when it comes to middle relief guys, well, all i can say is youneverknow...
what happened to pronk is that he signed his contract...
and i SERIOUSLY hope that the tribe beats the heck out of redsox/yankees
