One of the best lead-off hitters in the history of the game. Spent the start of his career in Montreal and then just stayed under the radar of the media the rest of his career. Will be up for his first HoF ballot next year and isn't likely to gather significant support. May well become the Bert Blyleven of position players.

the number of bases Raines stole went down or stayed the same every year from 1991 through 2000, when he didn't play:

1991: 51
1992: 45
1993: 21
1994: 13
1995: 13
