Too short of a career, but 205 RSAA means an unethusiastic yes

fantastic player, albeit with a short career
after suffering a broken toe on a comebacker in the 1937 AS Game, he changed his delivery, ruined his arm, and was washed up before he was 28

Dean is an absolute legend in the game. You could call him the Koufax of the 1930's. Sadly, a fluke cascading injury deprived us of a number fine seasons from him. The stats say he a modest addition to the NetShrine, but to me he will always be special.
I just loved him as a broadcaster. His enthusiasm and vivid descriptions were a real pleasure (remember I was just a kid). As someone who grew up listening to old-time country music, my fondest memory of Dean was when he was doing the game of the week and brought Roy Acuff into the booth and they sang The Wabash Cannonball while the game was going on. Priceless.
