Stan "The Man" Musial is one of the giants of the game. Seven batting titles, three MVP's, 4th in career base hits, an OPS+ of 159, career RCAA of 1204 (6th highest), and a WARP3 of 196. And just about the classiest man to ever play.

Let's play devil's advocate for a moment--

1) Didn't our mothers always teach us that 4 letter words are bad? Look at how many letters are in Stan.

2) Looking at his record, I see a whole lot of zeroes in his stat line. For example, there is a zero in the last digit of his career H figure, 8 different zeroes in the digits in his single season H figures, 3 zeroes in digits in single RCAA figures.

3) He had 1 single season in which he had a negative RCAA. If we take that negative sign away from his -1 figure and move it his 1948 season, it would mean that his -120 RCAA was a far worse season than Neifi Perez could ever have imagined having.

4) As a pitcher, he failed to strike out a single batter.

5) In terms of entertainment value, I am not aware of a single instance in which he appeared on This Week in Baseball slamming a whipcream pie into someone's face.

6) Even if we doubled his career RCAA figure, if we then multiplied that by 0, we would be left with nothing.

Despite all of these clear shortcomings, I have to vote yes.

love the Neifi Perez comment
I had the "privledge" of watching Perez for 2 years with the Giants, and I once made an attempt to prove him the worst hitter in MLB history
I'm very disappointed he only had -25 RCAA this year, as 1 more would have tied him with Ski Melillo for 2nd worst all-time and worst since 1900

Don't worry, for Neifi, there's always next year.

I think I've heard of Musial. Isn't he the guy who played for the Cardinals who was considered one of their best players until Ozzie came along?
