One of baseball's last impressarios. Had a lot of really stupid ideas and a lot of really smart ideas, but was such a horse's ass, people ignored the latter.
Fun side fact I recently learned: Once free agency had shorn the team of all of its talent and he ran his front office on a shoestring, he hired a local kid to do...well, I can't remember what, but something with the ballclub. The local kid grew up to be MC Hammer.
