I was going through some boxes, and I came across a couple of baseball videos I purchased way back when.

This Week in Baseball, 1990 Year in Review
1990 World Series video - Reds A's

Some thoughts

Wow, 1990. 15 years ago.

I had never heard of a "lockout" before then. With the truncated spring training, that could explain why my 1990 Yankee Yearbook has pictures of players they acquired in the offseason in the uniform of other teams. Interesting that the issues that surrounded the lockout weren't resolved and would be the issues behind the 1994 strike

I noticed that the baseball caps didn't have the MLB logo on them. When'd that happen?

KC wearing road blues? They were the last team to wear them, IIRC.

Two divisions per league, with 7 teams per division in the AL, 6 in the NL. Florida and Colorado would be added 3 years later. The Brewers would switch over

The Yanks and Indians in last place. The Pirates in first place, beginning their run of 3 division titles. The Reds were in first place as well.

The "Killer B's" were Bonilla and Bonds

Cecil Fielder hitting 50 HR, the 50th off Steve Adkins. Adkins threw a knuckle-curve, the first time I ever heard of such a pitch. Yankee Stadium was pretty empty that night. I remember listening to that game on the radio.

The Big A, and the Oakland-Alameda County Colosseum looked much different back then.

Man, there were a lot of no-hitters then... Andy Hawkins. Wow. I still remember how befuddled (resigned?), he was during the post game interview

Ballparks that are no longer with us; Fulton County Stadium/"The Launching Pad" (ATL), Memorial Stadium (BAL), Comiskey Park (CHI-A), Riverfront Stadium (CIN), Municipal Stadium (CLE), Tiger Stadium (DET), Astrodome (HOU), County Stadium (MIL), Olympic Stadium (MON), Veterans Stadium (PHI), Three Rivers Stadium (PIT), Arlington Stadium (TEX), Kingdome (SEA), Jack Murphy Stadium (SDP), Candlestick Park (SFG) and Busch Stadium (STL)

Look, KC and St. Louis had turf!

How big/popular was Bo Jackson? Deion Sanders and Brian Jordan also did the football/baseball split.

Ah, the Nasty Boys. Charlton, Myers and Dibble. Dibble had a most interesting delivery, kinda like a slingshot.

Anyone else have memories on the 1990 season?

That was a horrible, horrible season for a Cardinals fan. The team was so awful that Whitey Herzog quit midseason. So, I've tried to block as much of that year from my memory as possible. :)

When I think 1990, I think Reds. They were like the White Sox this year.

1990 - the Indians didn't finish last. They were 77-85, good for 4th in the old AL East.

I remember the names, but I don't remember the games. I wasn't as devoted back then.
