hello, new member and i wish gammon would've put the url for the Baseball immortal but I found it anyways. i was wondering if anyone read the Bill James book, and what u think of it.

rza93, welcome aboard!
ESPN ran a couple of articles on the book last month. I think Neyer suggested using it more as a reference instead of a cover-to-cover read. I'm doing the cover-to-cover bit presently, and it's mostly very enjoyable. Typical Bill James writing style and interesting tidbits that he himself said are meant to help the reader visualize the game and the players as they were - the man behind the baseball player, if you will.
Definitely a must-have for your baseball library...
