Here's what we said last year: http://www.netshrine.com/vbulletin2/showthread.php?t=13857

The Phillies edge out the Braves with a final week surge. The Marlins are squarely in third as the Mets and Nationals are beyond hope by the break.

I'm not going to bet against the Braves until they actually lose one. I've learned my lesson.
But, the only safe bet in this division is Washington grabbing hold of last place early and not letting anyone else near it. Above them, I think any result is reasonably likely.

Me, too. Until Philly actually wins something I'll never pick them again.

Does this mean we've forgotten the lesson we learned in '80?

I hate the Braves worse than any other team in baseball, but I made the mistake of thinking they were going to fall apart last year and I was wrong. Scheurholtz and Cox really must be that good. Plus, they got Huddy now.
Florida finishes second with a strong push -- good D, scrappy hitters. Phillies finish third by default, just a little over .500

The wheels finally fall off the Braves wagon. Smoltz can't hold up in the starting roll, Kolb gets exposed as a fraud as a closer and don't even mention those corner OFs. Ed Wade shot the Phils in the head this of season so the Mets and Marlins battle it out through the final weekend with the Delgado being the difference. Minaya and Wilpon ask why we didn't go a little higher on that guy.

The Nationals should have the most improved home record.
The Mets should contend for the Wild Card, unless the Braves GM has really decided that the way to win the World Series is to come in second the league.
