Even if Rivera needs 7 days from today to attend to matters, how could the Yankees not include him on the roster? Cashman's comment of "It's a personal issue. That's that. We have until 10 a.m. Tuesday to deal with our roster" seems bizarre here.

Putting him on the roster is a no-brainer. What 25th pitcher could they replace him with that they'd actually like to pitch? They can get by on 24 players if they are any good, and Mo will probably be back I would think by the weekend.

I know this is going to make me seem hard-hearted, but I don't see how this is as much of a personal tragedy as what Jacque Jones went through, and he didn't miss the ALDS.

I think the difference may be cause of death in both cases, and the fact that is was two, not one, at Mo's house - one of them being a small boy.

Always good to note that despite the ups and downs of everyday life we are keeping our eye on the important things.

I was thinking that when I heard the report, and the subsequent reaction.
