I think the Angels will slip by the Sox in 4 or 5 also. The Angels can hit with the Sox and have a superior bullpen.

I'll go with the Angels. They're finally healthy and getting strong performances from guys like Colon. Not to mention, Johnny Damon said the Angels were the best team in baseball back in May or June.

I'd say Angels in 4, but since we're talking about the Sox here, it's more likely to be the Angels taking game 5 in the 11th with a HBP to force in a run.

Since the Angels are now tied for my favorite team in the majors, let's go Angels!!!!!
My postseason priorities--
1 and 2) Dispose of the wild card teams.
3) A very distant 3rd, the Yankees.

I'm curious why your blind hatred of the wildcard doesn't extend to the whole post-season in general? It seems that more often than not, a team which did not have the best record in their own league, ends up winning the World Series. Why should those teams, who were not the best in their given subset, be crowned best overall? Regardless of whether that team was a division winner or the wild card, it seems like the same argument.

I might one day develop the same hatred of the postseason, but right now, it's just pure apathy.

Here are my priorities:
1. Yankees lose.
2. Eliminate the wildcard.
I agree with Lee that the wildcard is an abomination. We disagree on whether the Yankees are.
Angels are on a roll, and the Sox aren't. Anaheim in four.

Wow, so far, this is the only LDS thread with a shutout going........6-love, Halos.

I'm just as suprised as you are, what with the Sawx throwing Schilling & Pedro. Anyway, as someone who also doesn't like the wildcard, and likes the Sox even less, I'm going with the Halos :)

Just to be different, also since they are my favorite team, Red Sox in 4. For the record from a simply selfish stand point I love the wild card since it seems impossible for the Sox to win the division :D

The Angels scored 113 runs fewer than the Red Sox this year - with Jose Guillen on their team. While I am sure they can take batting practice at the same time as the Red Sox, that's as close as they can get to hitting with the Red Sox. Can good pitching beat good hitting - sure. But Francisco Rodriguez and Brendan Donnelly aren't starting.....

Well, it's over. I heard part of the game on ESPN radio driving home from the airport, and part on the tube. I don't recall who the radio guys were, but I got Boomer and Reynolds on the tube. I am trying to figure out how to get an AM radio signal in our TV room...
I know a 3-0 series isn't close, but I wonder how much second-guessing there will be of Scioscia's decision to yank K-Rod in favor of Washburn.

Never mind that. In a lose and die and go home game - on the road - tied, in extra innings, well, I have to say "Where was Percival in the 10th?"
