I like the Astros in this one too, but you worry about their past lack of performance in the post-season. I am still trying to figure out how the Braves won 70 games.

The Astros are playing as well as anyone, but I have to go with the Braves and I don't know why.

But, I don't think I'm going to get what I want.

Me neither. I'm actually predicting that every team I want to win, loses. Astros have an awfully hot hand. I think this will be the closest of the four DS, with the Astros in five.

4 to 2 in the Astros favor so far..........

Gotta give the Braves props for pushing this one to 5 games.

I'm pulling for the 'stros because (embarrassingly) of Beltran, but there something downright sickening of a Yankee fan rooting for the Braves, too. How many dynasties can one human support?? :)

I don't like the Braves.
But, I will root for anyone over any wildcard team.

I generally agree with you about the wildcard (except when it's playing the Yankees). But I like the Braves, too; as you probably know, I think Cox and Mazzone are as good as they come. That being said, you have to feel sorry for Cox, in a way--this was his most amazing managing job, but he gets to the playoffs with Jones hurt, Thompson hurt, and, if Joe Morgan's right, Drew hurt. If they win today, and I hope they do, I will be torn about the NLCS, since I think St. Louis is the only team left with any chance of beating the Yankees.

I have nothing against the Braves themselves. In fact, in many years, I had to root for them in the regular season since they were battling the Mets.
But, the Braves fans come with them. And I started getting tired of hearing their chants all the way back in 1991.

Why did Clemens come out after 5? I didn't see the game. Was he tired/tiring?

Garner, in the post-game, said he was working off fumes in the 5th.

Good point. That Tomahawk Chop stuff got really old in the '91 WS.

For a Yankee fan to complain about anybody else's fans is the height of hubris.
As far as the Braves will somebody put a bullet in them?? The thought of them laying down in another world series is enough to make you puke.

I don't have a good relationship with the majority of Yankees fans, either.

You should've heard the stuff coming from the YS bleachers before security cracked down on them

But, we read time and time again from visiting players at YS that the Yankee fans are among the most knowledgeable in the game.

Amazing, all these years I thought the visiting players were sincere when they said that same thing about Boston, St. Louis, etc :D
