How many pitchers has he hit HR off of?
Which pitcher has given up the most Gopherballs to BB?

I would bet that he's taken Pedro Astacio downtown, a lot.

I 98% sure these are on espn.com somewhere. I KNOW I read both of these somewhere.
by recollection, the # of pitchers was in the low 400's. I have no memory of the pitcher's name, but I'm pretty sure it was given, too. (I *think* it was a NL pitcher. Could be wrong though ;))

I went with Pedro given his time in the NL, along with Bonds in the AL West for some, and his HR/IP ratio.

Koplove (Barry's 699th homer) was the 414th pitcher, so I guess we can assume that is still the current number. article: Espn.com (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?section=mlb&id=1880271)

And, according to:http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/features/hammer
BARRY BONDS: HR BREAKDOWN
VICTIMS
Greg Maddux 8
Curt Schilling 8
John Smoltz 8
Terry Mulholland 8
tied for the lead

just from espn.com's stat page, I can say the active pitcher(s) who have given up the most dingers to Barry are Maddox and Smoltz, both with 8. I would be willing to bet that there couldn't be very many retired pitchers who have pitched to Barry more often than those two. That doesn't mean he didn't just light some guy up every AB.
FWIW, Maddox was the pitcher I thought I remembered reading, but I can't find the article now, if indeed there ever was one.
EDIT: WHOOPSIES! Forgot to check the AL! Good work, Crash.

BTW, Crash, my first post wasn't directed towards yours. Astacio was a great pick--I was just being goofy. In fact, I started writing my reply before you even posted. Didn't mean to sound flippant! :)

Thanks. I knew this info had to be somewhere, I just couldn't think of where to look. Not to mention ESPN's website is pretty bad with popups and all the flash stuff on there. (Yes, I have broadband, but it still sucks. That site is like a video billboard anymore)

Another trivia that I'd like to know is
"what size bat does he use?"
I heard a while back that he chokes up on a 32-in bat, which I find a bit hard to believe

I think Rusty Staub did that.

OK, this might seem silly to a lot of you, but I took the data provided by USA Today, dumped into MS Access and came up with a summary of Bonds HR by Team, By Inning, By Pitcher, and By Ballpark.

Nicely done! :thumb:
Not a lot of extra inning HRs for Barry.
