Giambi gave the Yanks one great year, one very good year, and one very bad year due to injury/illness. Other than being nailed to the 1B/DH role there is some hope for him in the future years. I mean at least he has a valid excuse for this year.

The Yanks actually owe Giambi $84M over the next four years due to his prorated signing bonus.

I guess Billy Beane was pretty smart to let Jason go. :hotdevil:

I thought the Giambi signing was a mistake at the time, though he was great for two years. It was too long and too much money. The Yanks can't trade him, who'd take him without the Yanks sending at least 60 million with him?

He is as untrade-able as a player can possible be - given his condition, age, poistion, skills and salary. He's the Yankees' albatross, no question.

Then why did he lament it so? ;)
