7) Barry Bonds broke Babe Ruth's major league record for most career walks above the league average.

After 161 RCAA/1.381 OPS and 115 RCAA/1.278 OPS seasons, Bonds is hitting .855 SLG, .637 OBA, 1.492 OPS, 55 RCAA in his first 49 games. He has a 1.042 career OPS, compared to his league average of .749, and 1399 RCAA in 2618 games. Bonds will also miss tomorrow's game, to attend a funeral, and will return Friday.

1) The Angels pitching staff tied the major league record with 26 SO in a 17 inning game against the Brewers. They tied the mark set by the 1971 Angels, vs. the A's.

2) Brewers LF Geoff Jenkins tied the major league record with 6 SO in an extra inning game. He was the 8th player to do it.

After -3 RCAA/.764 OPS and 27 RCAA/.913 OPS seasons, Jenkins is hitting .412 SLG, .309 OBA, .721 OPS, -10 RCAA in his first 54 games. He has a .852 career OPS, compared to his league average of .780, and 57 RCAA in 704 games.

3) The Orioles sent P Darwin Cubillan to the minors after he cleared waivers. Cubillan had been removed from the 25 and 40 man rosters when he was designated for assignment on June 4.

4) The Indians placed P Joey Dawley on the 15 day DL and called up P Kazuhito Tadano.

Dawley has a strained elbow. He has a 10.91 ERA/-12 RSAA in 8 career games, including a 5.40 ERA/-1 RSAA in 2 starts in 2004.

Tadano has a 9.64 ERA/-3 RSAA in his first 3 career games.

5) The Rangers signed P Rick Helling to a minor league contract.

Just another indication of how much Ruth was feared by the opposition. The fact that he is so high on the list when he had Lou Gehrig following him from 1925 to 1934.
