Ever watch a game where 'your team' is winning, and you just know (based on watching games in the past) - or rather feel - that it doesn't matter because they are going to lose the game anyway? On the flip side, ever watch a game where you team is behind - could be as many as 8 runs - and, for some reason (again, a feeling) you're cool about it because you just know that they are going to win the game?
This happens to me sometimes. I wonder why? FWIW, most of the time, I'm right too.

Yes
I get this all the time. For example, in the 1993 World Series when the Jays were losing 14-9, I just KNEW they were going to come back and win. I think your senses pick up little signals that your conscious brain doesn't explain to you.

I agree - you just get a feeling off the way the teams are playing, without any relation to the current score, that they either have it or don't that day.

I don't think I ever get that extreme of a feeling. But I do feel better about some deficits than others, and not as good about some leads. Some days, we're down 5-0 and I know there's no way they'll come back. Other days, it 5-0 and I feel like they still have a decent chance.
