Got it, haven't seen it yet.

I had a change in plans and watched it before tonight's Yankees game.

It was really good. I recommend it.

I just have a couple of nitpicks, both relating to the section on the Yankees-Royals. The first was the 1977 ALCS. I don't know why both that video, as well as the Yankees 100 year DVD, both botched their coverage of Game 5 of that series. The Yankees trailed, 3-2, going into the 9th inning and put together a 3 run rally to win the game and the pennant. It just annoyed me that both DVD's never even mentioned that.

What made me pay attention to that particular nitpick was when I noticed it not being on the Yankees DVD. So, I made sure I paid attention to that detail for this one.

The other nitpick was the Pine Tar Game. That wasn't even mentioned. While that section focused just on the 1976-80 rivalty, they really should have also added, "And, while the postseason aspect of the rivalry ended after 1980, one subsequent game really stands out" and went into coverage of that.

On the other hand, there's also bonus features that is almost as long as the regular program.

Due to tonight's Yankees game, I didn't get a chance to watch that part of the DVD. So, I'll have to report back on whether they included in that section.

Lee - if you haven't seen the bonus footage yet, you should. It has the Pine Tar game in there.

I liked this DVD - 'tho I think they did a better job with the modern stuff, because there's more footage, etc.

Wow. The pine tar game. Now THAT was a weird game. Are there hard feelings over that game in NY? I'm seriously curious; I'm not trying to be a smart aleck if there are. I wasn't around when it happened (too young). By the time I started paying attention to sports, the Yanks and Royals already had enough trouble getting to the playoffs to worry about their "rivalry."

I still can't believe how many people remember Brett more for his explosion that day rather than for him getting his 3000th, or the .390 season. Heck, *I* always think of it when I think of Brett, and like I said, I didn't see it on tape until a year ago!

Hard feelings?
I can only speak personally. For me, it seemed like McPhail (Sic?) really screwed the umps pver on that one with the "spirit of the rule" thing.

A rule should be a rule. The rule said "x" amount of tar - and he exceeded it. Where is the grey area? Anyoway, that's a topic for a thread by itself........

Thanks for the reminder. I'll have to watch the bonus footage in the next couple of days.
