There's been miscellaneous speculation lately about what happened to LGO - some here and more outside the NDF. So, while the NDF has the reserved right to refuse membership or access to anyone who we feel is abusing the service or exploiting it in a way that is detrimental to the NetShrine Discussion Forum or our members, and we may terminate access at our discretion, without being required to explain as to why access has been removed, I thought I would make an exception in this case, to clear the air.
As long as 90 days ago - it could be longer, I can't remember past then - LGO began making several posts of an angry nature - some including name calling on his part.
Now, as you should know, NetShrine Discussion Forum members are not permitted to harass, bash or "flame" other members.
Since, prior to these issues, LGO was a long time member in good standing, rather than terminate his access at first blush on one of these posts, it was communicated to him that this is not acceptable and should stop. I personally discussed this with him in e-mails, posts, and PMs, etc., as did at least two other NDF mods. If I had to guess, I would say this was brought to his attention at least 6 times in the last two months or so.
Unfortunately, LGO did not heed the counsel. The behavior continued and, on 3/24/04, I informed him that, while he is considered a valuable NDF poster & a friend of the site, we would have shut down his access if he continued with the name calling, angry posts, etc.
Then, on 4/11/04, LGO made a post calling another NDF member a "stupid little bastard." Therefore, after months of pleas from NDF leaders to stop and several warnings of what would happen if he did not, we had no choice but to suspend LGO's access to the NDF.
Note, LGO is suspended. He is not terminated. If he wants to be reinstated to the NDF, all he has to do is contact me with a request and we will review the matter at that time. Hopefully, this clears up all the rumor, etc., around this matter. Thanks.
