Do you plan on taking off Monday or Tuesday to watch your favorite team (or others) either live or on TV? I'm planning on being at home to watch the Jays play at 1:05, and I'm wondering if anyone else plans on sacrificing work for more important matters? ;)

I wonder if MLB is doing this again: http://www.netshrine.com/vbulletin2/showthread.php?t=9104
I'm taking off for the Yanks home OD - I have tkts and hope to be able to go (long story). As far as the OD in TB for NY, I dunno......have to see. I did see the Japan OD, but that was a 5 AM start.

I'm kickin' myself this year...neither can I watch my beloved Tigers on OD, nor can I skip out for the home opener. The plus side is that it's because I'm saving my vacation time for later this month to New Orleans (home sweet home) for Jazz Fest :hooray: !!

The Royals opener is a home game and I'll be there along with 40K of my closest friends. One of my favorite days of the year.

It's an easy year for me. Sox open on Sunday night. I'll be attending the home opener, but won't have to skip work, since our company decided last year to close on Good Friday.

I will miss the Reds Monday 2 PM game, between work and class at 4. Hopefully I can catch some on the radio in between.

I'm unable to take Tuesday off...I have a GED test to take. For the first half of the Seattle Mariners' opener, I'll be writing an essay on something which I will likely have no preparation for since I don't know what I'm writing about.
If you ask me, though, it is quite refreshing that something in my life takes more importance than baseball or the Internet...so I don't feel so bad about missing an opener in some capacity for the first time in quite a few years.

I'm not going to take the day off. The Giants opener starts at 4:05, so I may try to skip out of work early to catch it.

Luckily, the Indians don't play until 8:00 Monday night. Now, I hope I get to see it.

My boss and I have an agreement.
I have opening day, Patriots day, and all days the BoSox are in the play offs off. The World Series needs an instant vacation.
The agreement has worked out nicely. :D

I was planning to take Tuesday off, but then I realized that the Mets are playing at night. Unfortunately, that's also the second night of Passover, meaning that I'll be at a seder. Hopefully, I will make it home in time to catch the last few innings.

I'm fortunate enough to have the day off & I will be sitting in front of the TV all day watching every game. I purchased the MLB Extra Innings package for the first time so it's going to be difficult for me to want to do anything else this summer but watch baseball. Is that a bad thing?

I won't be taking the day off as we have a project that needs to get done by the end of the week, but I'll have the radio feed via MLB on my laptop.

I didn't know you had an autistic son. I'm autistic too so I usually take notice when someone else mentions stuff like that. Off topic obviously but it don't matter.

Opening Day is usually a radio event for me unless it's a night game (and, on a side topic... it's kinda fun listening to the game on the radio at work... it'd be nice if there were a few more day games during the work week now and again...).
This year and last I've been fortunate that they have been night games. Of course, this year it's on ESPN so it'll be an extra day before I can watch the games with the Rem-Dog as they are meant to be.
