Name the 4 players to have 40 or more HRs in back to back
seasons with two different teams?

Bet McGwire's one.

A Rod, Junior, Palmeiro, the Big Cat

A-Rod has only played for Seattle before and only 1 season w/Texas. Junior is in 2nd year w/Cincy and only 22 dingers. Rafael Palmeiro has only hit 40 w/Texas.

Perhaps I misread the question. I assumed it meant that a guy hit 40 in Year 1, then did it again in Year 2, but for a different team. I asume you feel that he would have 2 straight years with one team, and then 2 straight years with another team, though not necessarily 4 consecutive years.

MY interpretation may be wrong, because I think Greg Vaughn did it also, which would make 5, not 4.

OTOH, your interpretation would mean that the guy had to have 4 40 year seasons. And at least 2 of those years with 2 different teams. I would be surprised if there are 4 players that have done that.

I was thinking that for team A, some guy hit 40+ twice, then down the road for team B, he did it again.

BB, can you narrow the search a little bit?

I think the question needs clarification as well.

I presume that it was 40+ w/team A then 40+ w/team B (in successive years for a total of 2 years).

Neither Hank nor Babe, Reggie, Albert Belle, McGriff did 40+ back-to-back on the same team and then repeated this f/another team. Finding 4 guys doing this would be probably impossible.

If it's the first one, I already answered with 5 guys, rather than the 4 requested. Your objection to my answer indicated you had a different reading of the Q.

However, if it is the second, as you indicate, and I suggested earlier, there can't be 4 players who qualify. In fact, there may not be one.

Therefore, it is safe to assume it is the first paragraph above (a total of 2 yrs) that BB meant. Maybe he overlooked A-Rod who just joined the list this year.

YL, I wouldn't quite say "objection" but simply that I saw A and you saw B. Your answers probably were correct but after I saw some of the likely suspects hitting nada, I started wondering who these 4 King Kong mystery men actually were. Hopefully, BB comes in and verifies it being the 2 years, rather than the 4 years.

Sorry, I didn't intend to sound critical. I was just trying to define the issue. "Objection" was the wrong word on my part.

I agree we need BB to straighten it out.

Hey guys wassup, the Q is players to hit 40 or more HRs
in back to back seasons(that 2 years) but with two
different teams. Yes there 5 not 4 players, I overlooked
A-Rod plus the Cat, Rafael, G. Vaughn and Junior.
Sorry for the confusion, but you guys are really on the
ball and keep at it. GOOD JOB to all.

Links, don't worry about it. BB, glad it's all straightened out now.
