Which is the least "talked about" World Series in the last half -century? 1961? 1966? Some other?
I'd think there's a multi-way tie for first here.

I think the 1998 World Series might be up there too. That series was an absolute bore.

I'll go with 1994. I don't know why people don't talk more about how the Expos beat the Yankees in 6 games.
I saw it happen right in front of my eyes, with my Baseball For Windows game.

I'd have to say 1966 and 1998 are right up there, along with 1980.

Considering the quality of the two series neither 1987 or 1991 gets the ink and/or time they deserve.

:nono: Lee, don't even joke about that sh... in front of me.
I did think about answering 1994 myself though, so you weren't the first with that idea.

1996?
The Leyritz HR off of Wohlers.
The Dye/Ump bump?
Andruw's 1st two AB HRs.
NY coming back after getting bombed in Games 1 and 2 - winning all three on the road.
Girardi's triple off Maddux.
How could you say 1996?

He COULD say that if he's using the keypad and inadvertently misses the digit at first.
However, he did said 1966. So you made your arguments for naught, other than for the humorous value that I'm getting out of it. :)

Whoopps!
My eyes are shot - too many Rx'es at once.
Nice catch LGO. Sorry Smed.
FWIW, I picked 1966 myself.

Probably the 1973 World Series A's vs Mets. Mets were regarded as unworthy with their 82-80 season (they did have very good pitching, however) and the World Series would have been regarded as a joke had the Mets won. The Mets did win 3 games and outscored the A's 24-21

I dunno - '73 gets talked about some - esp. about Mays falling around in the OF

I think I'd just as soon forget about that. A sad end for a great, great player

I think 1961 was a pretty poor outing....1974 as well.

I'm a little biased, but I don't think the 1992 series gets much attention. It was the first championship outside of the U.S., but it gets overshadowed by the 1993 Series and its great finish.

The Yankees? Something wrong with your memory Lee? Jack McDowell won 3 games en route to the first Chicago World Series title in decades.
