This is a good thing, right?

Hailing Larry Lucchino as "the Pedro Martinez of baseball executives," Red Sox principal owner John W. Henry last night announced the team has signed Lucchino to a seven-year contract extension as the club's president and CEO. The signing, which guarantees Lucchino control of the team's daily operations through 2011, dashed any notion he did not enjoy the ownership group's full support or planned to sweep through town like a carpetbagger.

Does the reference mean that he's very good....but only for two-thirds of the job? :D

Naah, it means he's already asking for an extension beyond the new agreement :)
